Oh, hello.
Welcome to our wedding website! We're looking forward to this special weekend. Our goal is to keep things as intimate as possible, opting to celebrate solely with our nearest and dearest family and friends.
Below, you'll find everything you need to know to address any questions you may have. Also, this is the best place to check for the latest information as things become finalized.

Arch Cape
Arch Cape is a small residential community nestled between Cannon Beach and Manzanita on the northern Oregon coast. It’s approximately 2 hours west of Portland.
Shelter House
The Shelter House is a contemporary beachfront home. Dinner and drinks will happen here. We’re expecting about 30 people.
Things to Know
Dress Code
Beachy cocktail attire. Shoes optional.
Bring a warm sweater or jacket, as it will be cool at night.
October on the Coast
Fall is called the “second summer” due to the warm temperatures on land and in the water. Gorgeous fall days include highs of 68 degrees and lows of 45 degrees.
Plan Ahead
We’re hoping for a nice sunny day, but we’re also ready with a plan B in case an early fall storm blows in. We encourage all guests to watch the weather and pack accordingly.
FAQ
Venue
What is Shelter House?
Shelter House is a custom contemporary beachfront home. It serves as Michele and Pat’s rental for the weekend and the venue for the post-ceremony dinner and drinks. It has garnered attention from various design magazines. Check it out at the links below!
Wait...you’re having a wedding reception at a house?
Sort of. It’s more like a small party. Our goal is to keep this very special weekend as intimate as possible, and we are choosing to celebrate with only our closest family and friends.
Since it is a house, please make sure to be respectful of all neighbors. There is no smoking on the property and quiet hours must be observed (the party will need to come inside around 10pm). Also, the home is pet friendly and our two dogs, Charlie and Ojai, will be roaming around.
Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?
We're aiming to host both the ceremony and dinner outdoors, but our plans will hinge on the weather conditions of the day. We’re preparing for best and worst case scenarios.
Friday Night Gathering
What is going on?
Friday is the not-rehearsal dinner. The Kent family invites you to a laid-back evening at the American Legion in Cannon Beach. Join us for a casual night of dinner, drinks, karaoke, and more. Come as you are and have a great time! Details here.
Who is invited?
All guests are welcome! FYI we’re sharing the space with American Legion club members.
RSVPs
Am I allowed to bring a plus one?
Because of space limitations, we can only host up to 30 people. We kindly request that only the amount of guests listed on your RSVP card attend.
Registry
Do you have a wedding registry?
We’re adults haha, but here’s some things we have our eye on.
Additionally, you may contribute to our honeymoon fund through the registry. We’re planning a long weekend in San Francisco right away and then a trip to Portugal in March 2025.
Getting Here, Lodging, and Essentials
Getting Here
Portland International Airport is the closest to fly into. From there, you’ll head west on Highway 26 through the Coastal Mountain Range until you hit Highway 101 and the Pacific Ocean.
Lodging
We recommend choosing accommodations in this charming community through Air B&B or VRBO. While parking will be limited at the house, the area is incredibly pedestrian-friendly. Additionally, we encourage guests to consider carpooling to minimize any parking challenges.
Essentials
There are no grocery stores or restaurants in Arch Cape—just homes. Gas and essentials can be found in Manzanita, about 15 minutes to the south. We recommend stocking up at The Little Apple!

We’d like to know...
Our favorite spots on the northern coast.
The Little Apple Grocery Store
This mom and pop shop in Manzanita has snacks, booze and essentials. Looking for lunch ideas? We almost always stop in for a custom sandwich after a day at the beach. Just head to the back of the store.
Arcadia Beach
Michele’s favorite spot in the area is Arcadia Beach. The parking lot is small—so it’s never crowded. Take a leisurely one-mile walk to the south end of the beach, where you'll discover an old wagon road etched with wheel ruts from pioneer days, winding around the edge of the headland.
Neahkahnie Mountain Hike
For those seeking some activity, there's a nearby moderately challenging hike offering breathtaking views of the surrounding coastline—if you can make it to the top! It’s 4.2 miles out/back and will take about 2.5 hours. Learn more here.
We’re so excited to mark this transition with a cozy celebration surrounded by our closest family and friends amidst the beauty of the Oregon coast.
